Welcome ! 欢迎您 !

I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at XJTLU (Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University) in Suzhou. Prior to that I was a Bairen research professor at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking University. I am originally from the Netherlands, and have spent time at the Leiden Observatory, the University of Amsterdam, and Sheffield University. My research focuses mainly on the dynamical evolution of planetary systems, binary/multiple systems, and star clusters. Much of the work is carried out by the students in our research group. For seven years I taught the university-wide lecture course 现代天文学 to undergraduate students at Peking University. Now at XJTLU my teaching includes mathematics, physics, astrophysics, and research supervision. I am also the director of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) East-Asia Office of Astronomy for Development (EA-ROAD).
