Welcome ! 欢迎您 !

I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at XJTLU (Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University) in Suzhou. Prior to that I was a Bairen research professor at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking University. I am originally from the Netherlands, and have spent time at the Leiden Observatory, the University of Amsterdam, and Sheffield University. Our team's research focuses mainly on the dynamical evolution of planetary systems, binary/multiple systems, and star clusters.

Much of the work is carried out by the students in our research group. There are many opportunities to join the team.  Contact me if you would like to join us as a postdoctoral researcher (博士后), a research assistant, a PhD student, a FYP (Final Year Project) student, a SURF student, or a visiting internship student. While in Beijing, I taught the university-wide lecture course 现代天文学  (Modern Astrophysics) students at Peking University. Now at XJTLU my teaching includes mathematics, physics, astrophysics, and research supervision. I am also the director of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) East-Asia Office of Astronomy for Development (EA-ROAD).
